Time for Tea

I don't normally enter cards for swaps or mingles because I make my cards specifically with someone in mind. Sometimes I will enter a challenge by a company or blog site to try to push me outside of my comfort side, which is normally  'clean and simple' in style.   I wanted to support a mingle hosted by a Dutch friend of mine from the only Yahoo Group I belong to called Oriental Stamp Art, (OSA). This mingle happened to be on a subject vital to my daily survival - TEA! I had just the stamp and idea in mind for my mingle partner and a duplicate for a Mothers Day card for my Mum-in-law in England. An A5 sheet of patterned paper, (formerly an old card insert), was my background choice. After stamping my teapot and cherry blossoms from ArtNeko in Memento black, I simply applied coloured chalks and sealed with hairspray. Layered off-white on off-white and voila! Clean and simple and under 20g for postage......

Speaking of Tea, we were on our way home the other day, looking forward to putting the kettle on for a nice cuppa  rosie lee, when we saw what at first looked like a large cat with a big bottom, waddling down the road. As we drove nearer we could see that it's tail was not that of a cat at all and it quickly jumped down into the ditch by the roadside. We mused at first at what it could be until the light bulb in my noggin flickered. It was, what is called in French, (Coco please correct me if I am wrong), a ragondin (or coypu in English). Weighing in at between 5.4kg-10kg (12lbs - 22lbs) it is considered a pest because of the amount of vegetation it destroys particularly along river and canal banks. It was eradicated in England by 1989. We have previously seen coypu in the Canal d'Ille-et-Rance just along from Lehon and also beaver in that canal near Evran.
Thanks for looking and God bless you!
Anne
